Description

How many ways can you repurpose a tin can? This workshop explores exciting possibilities for working with this versatile material that will make your work pop with color, pattern, text, and imagery. We will begin with an introduction, learning to take cans apart in preparation for use.

Next, participants will complete a project to learn cutting, forming, and joinery techniques. Demonstrations include rivets and exciting methods to capture, hinge, and form. Then, if time allows, we’ll heat things up and learn to solder steel sheet and wire.

Who should take this workshop? Anyone interested in learning to make work with a versatile, inexpensive, strong, lightweight material with countless design options. Shall we dance?
