About
Description
The Steel Fabrication class will focus on using mild steel to create wearable jewelry, small sculptural objects, or even larger-scale pieces. Mild steel is an excellent material that allows you to build complex and detailed pieces quickly and easily. Through step-by-step demonstrations, students will learn essential fabrication methods. These include soldering with steel sheets and wires, hollow construction, shallow forming, chain making, and making secure connections for earrings, necklaces, and brooches. We will also explore unique surface finishes using various patinas.
If you have only made jewelry before, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to challenge yourself with larger-sized works and dimensional forms.

Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm BOTH days Lunch: Please bring a bag lunch. HMAG will provide waters, sodas, and light snacks, but students are encouraged to bring their own lunch. There is a refrigerator and microwave at Charisma Design Studio. Parking is included and available in the grass lot to the right of Charisma Design Studio, along the fence. All materials are included.
